Our Take
Stagent exists because every developer who's used Claude Code has experienced this: you're 45 minutes into a complex refactor, the AI hits a wall, loses context, and your entire codebase is left halfway transformed with broken imports everywhere. Stagent fixes that. It gives Claude Code persistent memory and autonomous agency so it can actually finish multi-hour tasks instead of forgetting what it's doing halfway through.
Think of Stagent as a wrapper layer that maintains state across extended coding sessions. While vanilla Claude Code resets its context window and drops threads after a few thousand tokens, Stagent keeps track of where you are in the process and guides the AI through to completion. It solves the fundamental limitation of current AI coding tools—they're brilliant at snippets, useless at sagas.
This is the obvious-in-retrospect tool that anyone who's done serious dev work with Claude Code knew was coming. The question is whether Anthropic builds it themselves or someone else owns this layer first.
