Our Take
RouteStack.ai is building the bridge between AI agents and actual travel bookings. They call it an MCP—Model Context Protocol—which is tech speak for "here's how AI bots talk to real travel systems and complete transactions." Right now every AI assistant can help you plan a trip but none of them can actually book one. That's the gap. RouteStack connects agents to live travel data so they can search, price, and execute checkout across flights, hotels, and ground transport. Think of it as plug-and-play infrastructure for anyone building AI travel products.
The travel market is enormous—global online travel bookings hit over $1 trillion annually—and everyone's rushing to build AI travel agents. But here's the problem: these agents are functionally useless without access to real-time inventory and the ability to complete purchases. RouteStack is positioning themselves as the essential checkout layer that makes AI travel commerce possible. They're likely targeting travel platforms, OTAs, and developers building AI concierge products.
This is infrastructure play—if they win, every travel AI assistant runs on their pipes. Whether they can execute and land the right partnerships is the question. Based in the cloud, probably hiring engineers who understand both AI orchestration and travel distribution APIs.
