Our Take
OpenIT is an open-source IT helpdesk that runs entirely on Claude Code—and it's quietly making every enterprise ITSM tool look like overkill. Instead of clicking through endless admin screens to configure workflows, you just talk to Claude in plain English. It builds the workflows, writes the connectors, and handles the tickets. Same for employees—they ask in Slack, Claude answers or routes it to the right person. No new apps to learn, no vendor lock-in, nothing lives in the cloud that shouldn't.
Here's the part that should make ServiceNow uncomfortable: OpenIT runs locally on your machine using Claude Code as the operating system. That means CLI tools, MCP servers, direct file access, custom scripts—whatever you've got in your terminal, Claude uses. It learns too. First time someone asks something new, it escalates to you. You answer once. Next time, Claude handles it. Version 3.0.0, 62 downloads, and it's already replacing the ITSM equivalent of a legacy bank system for teams who are done with per-seat licensing nightmares.
