Our Take
Lyricly puts your lyrics where you've always wanted them—right there on your Dynamic Island, Lock Screen, menu bar, full-screen, anywhere but buried in the music app. It syncs with Apple Music and Spotify, covers arguably the only two streaming services anyone actually uses, and works across both Mac and iPhone. The Mac version runs quietly in your menu bar with a compact player that expands when you need controls; the iPhone version plugs into iOS system surfaces with widgets and Live Activities so you can see lyrics without unlocking your phone like you're trying to crack a code.
What Makes This Different: Most music apps hide lyrics behind a tap or make you scroll through an album art carousel. Lyricly treats lyrics as a first-class citizen—one that's visible in your peripheral vision, on your desktop, in your peripheral. They also offer "minimal" and "quiet" modes for when you want the song present without the words hijacking your screen. Focus mode, basically.
Who Built It: Unknown—which either means they've got their heads down shipping or they're operating stealth. Either way, the product speaks for itself.
Downloads: Available on Mac App Store and direct download for macOS 13+. iPhone version on the App Store. Spotify support just went live and there's apparently more coming—"dynamic modes," "smart themes," "new lyric interactions" are all flagged as in progress.
For: Anyone who's ever Shazamed their own speakers because they couldn't catch the lyrics. Now you just look at your screen. Genius.
