Google Vids 2.0
Create, edit and share videos at no cost w/ new AI features
Our Take
Google just dropped a free video creation tool with AI features baked in — it's called Google Vids 2.0, and now you can make and edit videos without paying for Premiere or paying some indie tool to do it for you. The catch is nobody outside Google seems to know exactly what the "new AI features" actually do differently from what was already in Workspace, which makes it hard to tell if this is an actual upgrade or just a version bump with better PR. Something tells me the real signal here is that Google finally decided video should be free in their ecosystem, which is gonna sting for every startup charging for the same thing.
